Being a Squirrel
Squirrels is the youngest Scout Section, for children aged 4-6. As a Squirrel, you’ll get the chance to try a range of exciting activities and go on new adventures.
Here’s everything you need to know.
When do we meet?
We have just about to launch our new Squirrel Drey on Monday 8th June 2026 for a 4-week trial.
We will be starting at 5pm and finishing at 5.45pm.
What do Squirrels do?
Working together Squirrels take part in a range of activities that help them develop their skills and learn something new.
Whether it’s exploring the local community or getting outside, fun is at the heart of the Squirrel programme.
Earning Awards
By taking part in activities Squirrels will earn badges that they can proudly wear on their uniform.
Completing all the challenge badges will earn Squirrels the Chief Scout’s Acorn Award.

After you join Squirrels you will wear a uniform that lets you display all of your badges.

Moving on to Beavers
Eventually, it will be time to say goodbye to Squirrels and move onwards and upwards to Beavers.
